The Magic of Love – A Couples Retreat
With Annika Hurwitt Schahn, Ph.D.
There is a magic to falling in love which seems to have a life of its own. We bring out the best in each other, and connect without effort. Sadly, for most couples this passes and your relationship becomes a challenge. Intimacy is easy when you understand the natural mental/feeling states that foster it, and those that get in the way. Using the three spiritual principles of Sydney Banks, This Couples Retreat Weekend is a powerful opportunity to learn:
How to re-connect after periods of distance
How to resolve differences without fighting or using techniques
How to communicate so you get on the same page, without compromise
How your relationship can grow and deepen over time

The Relationship Intensive Retreat
Intimacy occurs naturally when people are together, unless their minds are filled with thoughts about work, or mental habits of distraction, worry, anxiety or drivenness. If your mind falls into habits of busyness and distraction when you’re around your partner, you will feel as though your intimacy and connection is slipping away. If your mind has a tendency toward stress or anxiety, you may begin to see your partner as a source of these uncomfortable mental habits.
Many couples fall in love because they naturally are present to the new experience of getting to know another person, and that mental presence brings out the best in each other. As people begin to understand the implications of the Principles of Mind, Consciousness and Thought, they begin to understand what allows for connection between themselves and others, and what they might do that gets in the way of it. It then becomes natural to look towards states of mind that allow for more frequent, deeper and more satisfying connections with your partner and the other people in your life.

“During the Intensive, depths were awoken in me that decades of working on myself, therapy and spiritual practices had never touched. I got my life back. My work and my marriage continue to become richer, more purposeful and more satisfying. This approach is truly different, both in its simplicity and in its profound impact.”
